ASSOCIATE IN GENERAL INSURANCE (AINS)

This designation deals with principles of insurance, the provisions of some of the most widely used personal and commercial property and liability contracts as well as life and health policies, and the relationship between insurance theory and practice.

Earning the designation is a flexible process and your choices in elective courses can be easily customized to your specific career needs. IEA offers the full range of AINS courses as well as a wide range of elective options. Check with the Insurance Institute for requirements for Ethics Course 311.

Who will benefit?

  • Persons in all technical insurance positions whose jobs require an understanding of insurance functions and contracts.
  • Insurance personnel who have some knowledge of insurance practices but who have not had formal study of the insurance principles that underlie those practices.

Prerequisites
INTRO – Introduction to Property and Liability Insurance is recommended for people with less than 6 months’ industry experience who wish to earn the AINS designation.

INTRO: INTRODUCTION TO PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE

This course is designed as an orientation in the basics of insurance for new employees, accounting personnel, IT systems designers, agency, brokerage, and insurance company employees new to the insurance industry and for those who would benefit from knowing how the property/liability insurance business works. Includes an optional final exam which is highly recommended for students who plan to continue their insurance education. A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful results.

Earning CE Credit

Students may earn California Agent Broker CE credit through ONE of course types listed below. Credit cannot be earned for both classwork and passing national exam.
